Tour Overview

This short yet rewarding safari is the perfect escape for travelers in Zanzibar who want to add a taste of Tanzania’s legendary wilderness to their island retreat. With just two days, you’ll experience the thrill of Tarangire National Park—renowned for its massive elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and vibrant wildlife scenes—and descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, often hailed as Africa’s “Garden of Eden,” where a high density of animals thrives in a breathtaking natural amphitheater.

Designed as a quick safari extension, this journey offers the best balance between limited time and unforgettable encounters. You’ll trade the soft sands of Zanzibar for the wild savannah, swapping turquoise waters for golden plains alive with elephants, lions, giraffes, and more. Despite the short duration, the safari delivers experiences that feel timeless and deeply immersive.

The itinerary is crafted for travelers who value efficiency without sacrificing the essence of a true African adventure. Whether you’re a couple on a honeymoon getaway, a family on a beach holiday, or a solo explorer, this safari ensures your Zanzibar trip ends with a burst of excitement and discovery.

Itinerary

Your adventure begins with an early morning flight from Zanzibar to Arusha, where your safari guide will be waiting to greet you. After a quick briefing, you’ll drive into Tarangire National Park, famous for its striking landscapes dotted with baobab trees and wide savannah plains. Tarangire is home to one of the largest concentrations of elephants in East Africa, and sightings of lions, zebras, wildebeests, and giraffes are frequent throughout the park.

The day will be spent on a full game drive, with picnic lunch in the heart of the wilderness. The park’s life-giving Tarangire River ensures a year-round gathering of animals, especially during the dry season. Late in the afternoon, you’ll exit the park and continue to Karatu, where you’ll spend the night in comfort, recharging for the day ahead.
